The design of this beachfront home honours Barbados’ wooden chattel house. Bold architectural layering with large living areas, surrounding louvre windows and oversized glass doors allows for extensive views of the garden and what is undeniably one of Barbados’ best beaches.

Smooth granite finishes next to glass provide a sophisticated and minimalistic composition and the straight lines and shape of the front entrance, hovering over a peaceful koi pond evokes a clear sense of sophisticated and modern tranquillity.

Minimal interior walls and an emphasis on views and light are the defining characteristics of Shoestring which offers an upper-level primary suite built around a large glass shower enclosure with views of the aqua sea just steps away. An outdoor jacuzzi makes for good stargazing with the lapping shore as background music. The two additional lower level bedrooms are also en-suite, one boasting a cool tub with garden views, all bedrooms are king beds and air-conditioned.

The open floor plan includes the kitchen and living areas and lets an f of light fill the space.
